Employee Spotlight: Arul Kumar, Software Technical Lead

Introduce yourself and your role at Ackcio.

I’m Arul, working as a Software Technical Lead in Ackcio. My key focus areas are designing and architecting client-facing software applications for the products we develop. I also focus on grooming the team for various software roles.

What does your job entail?

My job entails an undeterred focus on designing software solutions for Ackcio’s products, with quality and reliability as two key factors. They are essential to help customers increase operational efficiency, reduce costs, improve worker safety and comply with local regulatory requirements.

What drew you to Ackcio when you initially started, and how has the company changed since then?

What drew me to Ackcio initially was the opportunity to do bigger and better things. I see opportunities to contribute to a forward-thinking industry, for example establishing the software platform, stabilizing it, and making it work as per industry standards. All through these years, there have been tremendous efforts from every single employee to streamline and optimize processes across our products and Ackcio as a whole.

What makes working at Ackcio so fulfilling?

Flat hierarchy in its true sense. Often, we have more responsibility and are more involved in important conversations. It also simplifies internal communication and enables fast decision-making to support our customers better.

What are some of your career milestones/accomplishments?

As a freshman in the world of software development, I had an opportunity to build an application using NLP (Natural Language Programming) for FIFA 2010. That helped to raise my profile. In Ackcio, every feedback we receive from our customers, mentioning how our platform eases their work is all my accomplishments.

What are the three traits that define you?

Hard-working, level-headed and disciplined.

How do you unwind after a long day at Ackcio?

Having a brownie bite in the office and a deep sleep at home.

What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?

Getting teamwork done is an art. At Ackcio, we unite teams through fun activities. We set aside both time and resources regularly for corporate team-building events. After all, a happy workplace equals happy customers.
