Employee Spotlight: Steve Pollett, Customer Success Manager – Americas
Employee Spotlight is our blog series where we get up-close and personal with our team members at Ackcio. For this edition of the Employee Spotlight series, we are featuring Steve Pollett, our Customer Success Manager for the Americas, who joined Ackcio this May.
Introduce yourself and your role at Ackcio?
Hi, I’m Steve, Ackcio’s Customer Success Manager for the Americas.
What drew you to Ackcio when you initially started, and how has the company changed since then?
I saw a job posting, and while doing some research before applying, I came across a video on YouTube of Nimantha giving a presentation. I was drawn to his excitement and passion for what Ackcio brings to the market. It has been cool to get to know the whole Ackcio team and see that we all share in that excitement. Our team has grown quite a bit over my short time here so far, but the culture everyone has built here remains a strong core value.
What does your job entail?
I handle onboarding and ongoing training for our clients and act as the primary point of contact if they require any assistance. This gives me the opportunity to work closely with our clients and also our incredibly talented engineering and development team. We in the Customer Success team are also responsible for creating helpful content for our end users such as user manuals, tutorial videos, and webinars.
What’s been one of your proudest moments working at Ackcio?
Attending GeoNiagara 2021 and hearing all of the great feedback from our clients.
How would you describe your professional growth in Ackcio?
My role here at Ackcio has already given me some great opportunities to grow. My background up until this point was primarily oil and gas oriented, so it has been really interesting learning about all of the different industries our equipment is used in. Having the opportunity to work with clients and our Ackcio team members all over the world has been interesting as well.
What 3 words would you use to describe Ackcio’s culture?
Collaborative, Supportive, and Innovative.
What are the most rewarding aspects of your job?
Probably seeing the “aha!” moment our clients have during technical training calls when their nodes connect to the gateway for the first time, and they can see data coming through. Helping our clients learn to use our system and seeing how it can help them with their projects is a great feeling.
What’s your favourite indoor/outdoor activity?
I have always loved hockey. I grew up playing, then when I finished playing I was a referee, and now that my daughter is playing, I get to be her coach!
