Employee Spotlight: Yi Li, Senior Embedded Engineer
For this month’s Employee Spotlight, we spoke with Li Yi Li. Yi Li is a Senior Embedded Engineer here at Ackcio and joined us in November 2018. Find out how Yi Li stays motivated at work and how she describes what it’s like to work at Ackcio.
Introduce yourself and what is your role at Ackcio?
Hello, I am Yi Li from Taiwan. I’m a Senior Embedded Engineer working on designing the next generation LPWAN. It is not the common 4G or 5G communication technology that we are so familiar with. Rather, it is the long-range, low-power industrial wireless mesh network that connects sensors in the densest of construction sites and the deepest of mines. It enables wireless connectivity for tiny battery-powered devices that otherwise cannot talk. Besides this, I’m also the pantry manager and ensure that we have the best of Japanese snacks always stocked up (I love to eat!).
What motivates you to wake up and go to work?
I prefer to set targets for myself. The sense of accomplishment after completing those targets motivates me to work harder.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
I like to swim! Every weekend I spend 2 hours at the swimming pool. Besides that, I love Korean dramas. The actresses are just too beautiful.
What do you like the best about working for Ackcio?
Ackcio stands out because of the company’s great people. I enjoy the working culture here. Together, all of the diverse personalities create a great team that is friendly and hard-working. I also love the pantry area, there are so many tasty snacks.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
I have the incredible privilege of working with people from various countries and cultures. There is always something new to learn from them.
What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
Always remember to look on the bright side. When faced with a challenge, we must have confidence in ourselves, trusting that all obstacles can be resolved.
Last, but not least, what’s something most people don’t know about you?
I like to eat pig blood cake. Sounds scary but it’s a famous street snack in Taiwan and it tastes so good, especially in a hotpot.
